Girliedog was a real dog. She was an abandoned mixed breed that found me one day and found her forever home. She was covered with mange, had very little hair, and sores too numerous to mention. Girlie was not the kind of dog I was looking for but it was something in her eyes that caught my attention. They said, “I’m a good and loyal dog. I may not look like much right now, but underneath all this mess I’m a real beauty. I’ve had a hard life so far, but I trust you and I’m giving you a chance. How about if you give me a chance?”
So I did.
Her first day at home, she became a protector. A car drove up, and all hell broke loose. It was as if she was saying, “Hey, strangers are here! Beware! There’s a watch dog on duty. This is my home now. Watch out!”
After a trip to the vet to treat her mange and parasites she started to blossom. Within a month she had a beautiful coat of long shiny hair, she was running again, and starting to learn how to play. Girlie lived a long and happy life and I miss her every day. She’s up in Doggie Heaven now, where the sun always shines and the treats are unending.
The dog jewlery I design are dedicated to Girlie and all the other cats and dogs who need a forever home.
